Bhubaneshwar, July 23 -- Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi today has given approval to the creation of two additional battalions of the Odisha Industrial Security Force (OISF), taking the total number of battalions to four.

For effective functioning of the additional battalions, the State Government has created 2,080 new posts with 1944 of them being regular posts while 136 posts have been created on outsourcing basis, the Chief Minister's Office (CMO) said in a statement on Wednesday.

Currently two OISF battalions are operational in the State, having a total strength of 2847 posts.

With the creation of additional battalions, the total number of posts in the OISF has now been raised to 4927.
