Bhubaneswar, Nov. 13 -- Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has approved an amendment to the Odisha Survey and Settlement Rules, aimed at simplifying the process of correcting land records and easing difficulties faced by land buyers and sellers.

Under the existing system, during Settlement Operations, the Record of Rights (RoR) for land purchased before the operation is prepared in the buyer's name by the Settlement Officer.

However, if the buyer's name is not recorded for any reason, the current process requires filing an appeal before the Board of Revenue or other competent Revision Courts, a procedure that often leads to long delays due to heavy workloads.
