Bhubaneswar, Feb. 16 -- The Odisha cabinet on Friday approved an outlay of Rs.1412.79 crore under the "Integrated Development of Heritage Monuments and Tourist Destination (IDHMTD) to preserve and revitalize heritage monuments and Temples.

Official sources said 159 projects have been taken up under the scheme with the objective to preserve and revitalize the Heritage Monuments and Temples to reflect Odisha's unique character by encouraging integrated development of an aesthetically appealing, accessible, informative and secure environment, combined with efficient public facilities and infrastructure.

The scheme will be implemented from 2020-21 to 2026-27.
