Bhubaneswar, Sept. 11 -- The Odisha State Cabinet tonight gave in-principle approval to the "New City Development" scheme, aimed at creating a modern and inclusive urban hub within the Bhubaneswar Development Plan Area (BDPA).

Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, briefing the media after the Cabinet meeting, said the project will span about 800 acres across the mouzas of Gothapatna, Malipada, and Daspur.
