Bhubaneswar, Sept. 8 -- Former Minister and sitting BJD MLA from Nuapada, Rajendra Dholakia, a popular leader from western Odisha, passed away today while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Chennai. He was 69.

Dholakia was elected to the Odisha Legislative Assembly four times from the Nuapada constituency and had served as Minister of Planning and Coordination in the Naveen Patnaik government.

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Naveen Patnaik, Deputy Chief Minister K.V. Singh Deo, along with several leaders from the BJP, BJD, and Congress, expressed deep condolences on his demise.
