Bhubaneswar, Sept. 22 -- For the third consecutive day, proceedings of the Odisha Assembly were stalled today due to protests by the BJD and the Congress over separate issues, forcing Speaker Surama Padhy to adjourn the House till 4 pm.

As on previous days, trouble began soon after the House assembled for Question Hour. BJD members, holding placards, stormed into the Well of the House raising slogans against the government, accusing it of undermining the constitutional powers of panchayat representatives.

Amid the uproar, the Speaker asked Law Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan to reply to a question raised by BJP MLA Sanatan Bijuli and attempted to run the proceedings.
