Bhubaneswar, Dec. 9 -- The Winter Session of the Odisha Assembly, which began on November 27, was adjourned sine die on Tuesday, 18 working days ahead of its original schedule.

According to the initial calendar, the session was slated to continue until December 29.

Assembly Speaker Surama Padhy adjourned the House sine die after members unanimously approved a motion moved by Government Chief Whip Saroj Kumar Pradhan, with support from Sanatan Bijuli and Gouri Shankar Majhi.

Presenting the motion, the Chief Whip requested the early adjournment, stating that there was no urgent official business left for discussion.
