Kendrapara, March 4 -- The Kendrapara police on Tuesday arrested a ward member and another person for allegedly dragging and stripping a middle-aged woman on a village road in broad daylight on Monday.
The police action came after a video of the incident went viral on social media. The arrested individuals have been identified as ward member Ranjan Swain and the other person as Narahari Swain.
Bimal Mallick, Inspector-in-Charge (IIC) of Kendrapara Sadar police station, stated that long-standing enmity and disputes led to this shocking incident involving a woman from Samalpur under Kapaleswar Gram Panchayat, Kendrapara Sadar police station limits.
