Bhubaneswar, June 13 -- Malkangiri Police achieved a breakthrough in its anti-Maoist operations with the arrest of two notorious Maoists on Friday.

The arrested Maoists have been identified as Kesha Kawasi and Rakesh alias Sanu Kunjam, both hailing from Chhattisgarh.

Kawasi is a resident of the Darba police station area in Bastar district, while Sanu Kunjam alias Rakesh is from the Gangalur police station area in Bijapur district.

Police seized a pistol, six rounds of ammunition, an electric detonator, codex wire, gunpowder, a walkie-talkie, a battery, Maoist literature, and other incriminating materials from their possession.
