Kendrapara, June 26 -- The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has directed the Superintendent of Police, Sundargarh, to conduct an impartial and time-bound probe into the alleged parading of workers in a semi-nude condition on Mission Road. The directive issued on June 24, follows a petition filed by human rights activist Akhand, who alleged that on December 12, 2024, a group of local residents forcibly stripped, tied, and paraded several workers after a woman accused one of them of outraging her modesty.
