Bhubaneshwar, Dec. 9 -- East Coast Railway's Khurda Road Division, which serves parts of Odisha, has initiated a special intensive drive to curb the activities of unauthorised vendors selling food and other items at stations and on trains under the Division's jurisdiction, officials said on Monday.

The drive aims to ensure passenger safety, hygiene and security, in strict compliance with the provisions of the Indian Railway Act, said officials.

Commercial staff have been specially deployed to detect unauthorised vending activities. Along with them, Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) personnel-who are duly authorised to take action-are also participating in the enforcement drive.
