Bhubaneswar, Dec. 23 -- Illegal narcotic substances and other unlawful materials worth about Rs 1.64 crore were seized during a special excise enforcement drive conducted in coordination with the police across Odisha.
The raid was launched on December 20 to ensure a peaceful and orderly New Year celebration in the state. The drive aimed to curb illegal liquor production and narcotics trafficking.
During the operation, a total of 318 cases were registered, including four cases under the NDPS Act.
Authorities arrested 134 persons and seized 12 vehicles involved in the illegal transportation of liquor and narcotic substances.
