Bhubaneswar, Dec. 31 -- A former managing director of agricultural cooperative society in Odisha's Sambalpur district was arrested today by Vigilance sleuths on the charge of embezzling Rs 79 lakh which was collected from the farmers towards loan repayment.
Fanindra Kumar Sahu, Former Managing Director of Jamankira Large-sized Agricultural Multi-Purpose Cooperative Society (LAMPCS) Limited, Sambalpur was arrested today by Odisha Vigilance.
The arrest follows an investigation into the financial discrepancies of the 2021-22 fiscal year, where a total of Rs.79,28,000 (approximately) was allegedly misappropriated by Sahu, the Vigilance said in a statement.
