Kendrapara, Feb. 22 -- The Forest personnel of Gahirmatha Marine Sanctuary arrested 8 fishermen in the wee hours of Saturday on the charges of catching fish inside the "No Fishing Zone " of the Sanctuary.
ACF, in charge of Gahirmatha Marine Sanctuary, Manas Kumar Das, said the Forest personnel intercepted a trawler and arrested the fishermen.
They seized 3 VHF sets, 1 GPS set, one fish finder 10 Trawling nets along with 5 quintals of miscellaneous marine fish catch from the arrested fishermen.
All the arrested fishermen were booked under Section 27,29,31 of Wildlife (Protection) Act,1972, and Section 51 of the said Act.
