Bhubaneswar, Jan. 10 -- The Commissionerate police today claimed to have busted an interstate Telegram investment scam by arresting seven individuals, including four staff of private banks.

The organized gang of cybercriminals deceived gullible investors to the tune of around Rs one crore by using Telegram and a network of fake bank accounts to defraud the victims,said police.

The investigation uncovered the professional money-layering being used by the fraudsters to hide their tracks. The accused persons procured mule bank accounts and SIM cards in connivance with the unscrupulous employees of private banks.
