Bhubaneswar, July 26 -- Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today announced a comprehensive welfare package for sanitation workers, including Rs 10 lakh life insurance coverage and Rs 30 lakh compensation in case of death while on duty.
The announcement was made during the inauguration of a two-day workshop on 'Transforming Core Sanitation Work: Safety, Dignity & Inclusion' in Bhubaneswar.
The Chief Minister also declared that mobile phones will be provided to key sanitation workers, particularly those engaged in sewage and septic tank cleaning.
Additionally, sanitation workers will be allotted houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana
