Puri, March 4 -- The Union Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change has directed the Odisha Coastal Zone Management Authority (OCZMA) to halt ongoing unauthorized constructions in Puri's Coastal Regulatory Zone (CRZ) area.
In a letter, the Union Ministry instructed the OCZMA to address these violations and ensure the enforcement and monitoring of CRZ regulations.
Jagannath Bastia, President of the Beach Protection Council of Odisha, had filed a complaint with the Union Ministry, stating that approximately 35 unauthorized multi-storied hotels and commercial buildings were being constructed in Puri's CRZ area in violation of CRZ norms.
