Bhubaneswar, Nov. 27 -- On the opening day of the winter session on Thursday, the Odisha Assembly paid tribute to former legislators Hemendra Prasad Mahapatra and Krushna Chandra Mallick, both of whom passed away between the last monsoon session and the current sitting.
The House also condoled the death of Saroj Pradhan, a former constable of the Odisha Police, who laid down his life in service to the state and the nation.
Chief Minister and Leader of the House Mohan Charan Majhi moved the obituary reference, which was supported by Leader of Opposition Naveen Patnaik, Congress Legislature Party leader Rama Chandra Kadam, CPI(M) MLA Laxman Munda, and Speaker Surama Padhi.
