Washington, Aug. 11 -- Chips and semiconductor giants Nvidia and AMD have agreed to hand over 15% of their Chinese revenues to the US in exchange for export licences, as part of an "unprecedented" arrangement.



The deal, confirmed to the BBC, will allow American tech companies to resume sales of advanced chips to China after a ban was imposed by President Donald Trump over their export, citing national security concerns.



These included Nvidia's H20 chip and AMD's MI308, both designed for artificial intelligence applications, were previously barred under US export controls.
