Chennai, Nov. 22 -- A joint study by various researchers from government and other organisations has revealed that evidence from India shapes National and Global policies on Nutrition and Tuberculosis (TB).

Undernutrition remains the single largest risk factor for developing active tuberculosis (TB) in India, contributing to nearly 35% of the country's TB burden. Recognizing this critical link, Indian scientists have generated groundbreaking evidence that has directly shaped World Health Organization (WHO) global policy and National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme (NTEP) strategies on nutrition-sensitive TB care.
