Washington, April 16 -- The number of border crossings from Canada to the United States fell in March to its lowest rate since the COVID-19 pandemic, the National Post newspaper reported, citing data from the US Customs and Border Protection.
The number of Canadian travelers entering the US was about 4.11 million in March 2025, while in March 2024, 4.97 million people crossed the US-Canada border, a decrease of 17.4% , the report said on Tuesday.
The reason for this decline may be the introduction of tariffs against Canada and the claims of US President Donald Trump to make the country the US's 51st state.
