Kolhapur, Sept. 17 -- Padma Shri awardee and renowned nuclear scientist Shivram Baburao Bhoje passed away due to age-related ailments at his residence in Rajarampuri, a suburb of the city, last evening.
He was 83, and is survived by his wife and three daughters.
Born into a farmer's family in 1942 at Kasba Sangav in Kagal tehsil of this district, he joined the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre's training school in 1965.
The late Bhoje served as the project director and chief executive of the Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR), Kalpakkam.
