Bhagalpur, May 9 -- Following instructions of the Union Home Ministry, the security has been beefed up at six power plants of the country's largest power generating company NTPC Ltd, located in Bihar and West Bengal amid escalating Indo-Pak tension and war-like situation between the two countries.

Official sources said here on Friday that complying with the centre's directives, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) deployed for the security of NTPC's Kahalgaon, Barh, Navinagar, Kanti and Barauni power plants in Bihar and Farakka power plants in West Bengal has been put on high alert. Round the clock patrolling and search operations were being carried out by the troops in all plant premises.
