Chennai, Nov. 10 -- union Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (Independent Charge) Jayant Chaudhary today announced that the National Skill Training Institute (NSTI), Chennai, will be upgraded into a Centre of Excellence (CoE) at acost of Rs 200 crore under the Prime Minister's Scheme for Empowerment through Technology Upgradation (PM Setu).
The Minister was speaking to the faculty members and students of NSTI after a meeting to review the functioning of the Institute.
Highlighting the scope of the PM Setu scheme, he said with an overall outlay of Rs 60,000 crore, the flagship programme aims toupgrade 1,000 Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) across the country.
