Itanagar, March 9 -- A hardcore insurgent belonging to the National Socialist Council of Nagaland (Khango faction) was apprehended during a joint operation conducted by security forces in Khonsa, Arunachal Pradesh, on Sunday.
Sources said acting on credible intelligence inputs about the presence of an insurgent in the Bank Colony area of Khonsa town, the Khonsa Battalion of Assam Rifles, in coordination with the Tirap Police, launched a focused operation on March 8.
During the operation, the joint team apprehended the NSCN (K) insurgent identified as self-styled sergeant Puman Pansa. He was subsequently taken into custody for further investigation.
