Mumbai, April 20 -- In the wake of the war of words between the ruling party and the opposition over the controversial Delimitation and Women's Reservation Bill, Solapur Congress MP Praniti Shinde on Monday launched a fierce broadside against the Modi government, alleging that the proposed legislation was a "strategic trap" designed to divide the country into North and South.
Addressing a press confereence here, she said that the Prime Minister's latest strategy has "failed miserably".
Praniti Shinde targeted the link between women's reservation and the delimitation process. She stated that the Bill was never truly about empowering women but was a "Delimitation Bill" aimed at creating a geographic rift.
