Amaravati, May 9 -- The north-south trough from south Telangana to Gulf of Mannar now runs from North Interior Karnataka to the Gulf of Mannar across Rayalaseema and Tamil Nadu at 0.9 km above mean sea level, the Meteorological Centre said on Friday.
In a daily weather report, it said that the Southwest Monsoon is very likely to advance into the South Andaman Sea, some parts of the Southeast Bay of Bengal and the Nicobar Islands around May 13.
Under its influence, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds with speed ranging from 30 to 60 km/h are likely to occur at isolated places in Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam and Rayalaseema during the next five days.
