Itanagar, Sept. 22 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi today asserted that the North East is fast emerging as the "driving force of India's development," as he unveiled and laid the foundation of infrastructure and hydropower projects worth over Rs 5,100 crore in Arunachal Pradesh.
Addressing a packed gathering at Indira Gandhi Park here, Modi invoked the blessings of Almighty Donyi Polo and lauded the patriotism of Arunachal's people.
"This state is not only the Land of the Rising Sun but also of rising patriotism. Just as the first colour of our national flag is saffron, Arunachal's spirit too begins with saffron," he remarked.
