New Delhi, March 9 -- Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu on Monday said that commercial flights from Noida International Airport at Jewar in Uttar Pradesh are expected to begin within the next one and a half months.

Responding to a question during Question Hour in the Rajya Sabha, Naidu expressed happiness that the Noida airport received its aerodrome licence from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) last week.

He said that typically it takes 45 to 60 days after receiving an aerodrome licence for commercial flight operations to begin.
