Nodal officer appointed to deal with Avian influenza in Goa

Panaji, Jan. 20 -- Goa Government has appointed a nodal officer to deal with Avian Influenza in the state.

A statement from the government said, Directorate of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services has informed about the outbreak of the Avian Influenza or Bird Flu in different states of India, including the State of Maharashtra.

Any unusual sickness and mortality in poultry and wild birds must be reported to the State Nodal Officer for Avian Influenza/Bird Flu at the Office of the Assistant Director, Disease Investigation Unit, Tonca - Caranzalem.

The Nodal officer may be reached also in case of additional information about the same in avian species in your vicinity.
