Lucknow, Dec. 30 -- Uttar Pradesh is experiencing severe cold and there is no respite from this yet, as rain is expected on New Year's Day.
On Tuesday morning, 37 cities, including Gorakhpur, Prayagraj, Ballia, and Kanpur, have been engulfed in fog. The roads are deserted as visibility is so low that nothing can be seen even 20 meters away.
Due to fog, more than 100 trains are running 2 to 15 hours late at several railway stations, including Lucknow, Gorakhpur, and Prayagraj.
More than 10 flights have been cancelled bound for Lucknow and Varanasi.
Barabanki and Fatehpur were the coldest districts, with temperatures reaching 8degC.
On Monday, temperatures dropped by 2 to 4 degrees in more than 25 cities.
