Chandigarh, July 30 -- In the disproportionate assets case, senior Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader and former minister Bikram Singh Majithia failed to secure relief from the Mohali court today.
The hearing on his bail plea, which began at 10:30 AM and continued until 3:00 PM, saw arguments from lawyers representing both sides.
The court has adjourned the matter to August 1 for further arguments. In a previous hearing, the government had submitted its response regarding a plea to shift Majithia's barracks. Currently, Majithia remains in judicial custody until August 2 and is lodged in New Nabha Jail, Patiala.
