Shillong, Sept. 12 -- The Meghalaya government on Friday said that there is no proposal for the privatisation of the Mawmluh Cherra Cements Limited (MCCL), one of the state's oldest public sector undertaking unit.

Replying to queries raised during the Question Hour in the assembly, Deputy Chief Minister in-charge Industries department, Sniawbhalang Dhar said the earlier proposal for a Joint Venture partnership with MCCL did not materialise as a suitable partner was not found at that time.
