Godiya (Maharashtra), May 12 -- There is no proposal to merge the two groups of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) yet, said NCP (Ajit Pawar) group leader Praful Patel.

"It is being discussed only in the media, and it is not right for me to express my personal views on this", said the Rajya Sabha MP.

"We will discuss all key issues within the party. If something comes up in that discussion, then it will be right to talk about it," he added.

The NCP split occurred on July 2, 2023, when Ajit Pawar, along with several other party leaders, broke away from the NCP led by his uncle Sharad Pawar, and joined the ruling BJP-Shiv Sena alliance in Maharashtra.
