Shimla, July 24 -- Himachal Pradesh Government has drawn a sharp line between the controversial Agniveer scheme and its newly introduced trainee policy, clarifying that state services will no longer operate under an ad-hoc system of employment.

A government spokesperson on Wednesday asserted that the new trainee policy, notified on July 19, 2025, marks a decisive shift towards regularizing government jobs within a fixed period of two years.

In a direct rebuttal to political criticism, the spokesperson said, "There is no provision in the policy to terminate the services of any trainee after two years. Instead, this policy ensures that employees will be regularized after a two-year training period."
