New Delhi/Bhopal, Feb. 8 -- union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Saturday said farmers' interests have been fully protected in the India-US trade agreement, rejecting Opposition claims that Indian agriculture would suffer.
Addressing farmers at a programme in Sehore district of Madhya Pradesh, Chouhan said no agricultural produce such as maize, wheat, rice, soyabean, poultry products, milk, cheese, ethanol, fuel or tobacco will be imported from the United States under the deal.
He said the Prime Minister had always upheld India's dignity and ensured the country never bows to pressure.
