Dumka, Nov. 27 -- A mishap was averted on Thursday when a passenger train derailed at Dumka Railway Station on the Rampurhat-Dumka rail section in the state.

No casualties or injuries have been reported in the incident.

According to eyewitnesses, two coaches of the 63081 Rampurhat-Jasidih Passenger train derailed just before the train was to arrive at Dumka Railway Station. Because of the train's slow speed and the alertness of the locomotive pilot, a serious accident was avoided.

The derailment resulted in damage to an OHE (Overhead Electrical Equipment) electric pole near the station. However, due to the controlled speed, no passengers were harmed.
