Mumbai, May 3 -- Mumbai and the wider Mumbai Metropolitan Region woke up to early morning heat on Sunday, with temperatures already touching 31degC.

The India Meteorological Department forecasted a sunny day with temperatures between 28 c to 35degC however no heatwave warning has been issued , but residents are advised to stay hydrated and avoid peak afternoon hours.

The IMD further said that daytime highs would reach 32-36degC, but humidity will push the "feels like" temperature to 40-41degC by afternoon. Evening and night temperatures are expected to stay elevated at 29-30degC, feeling as high as 34-36degC.
