Srinagar, Aug. 11 -- The massive anti-militancy operation in south Kashmir's Kulgam's Akhal forest entered its 11th day today, with no fresh exchange of fire reported in the past 16 hours, officials said.
The last brief exchange of fire occurred late Sunday night, though it remained unclear whether it was probing fire or an actual firefight.
" There was no firing today, and combing in the vast forest area is still underway," said a security official. "Now the search and flush-out phase of the operation is being carried out in the rugged and ravine-filled terrain spread over three to four square kilometres."
