Thiruvananthapuram, July 21 -- A 'No Drone Zone' has been declared around all Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) campuses located in and around Thiruvananthapuram as well as at the Ammonium Perchlorate Experimental Plant (APEP) in Aluva, Ernakulam.

As per the Government notification, the use of drones, lantern kites, remotely piloted aircraft, and other unmanned aerial vehicles is strictly prohibited within a two-kilometre radius of the ISRO facilities including the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC), the Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre (LPSC), the ISRO Inertial Systems Unit (IISU), and the APEP.

The measure is aimed at ensuring the safety and security of ISRO's personnel, premises, and sensitive operations.
