Ankara, May 26 -- There is no clarity whether the next round of negotiations on the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine would be held in Turkey, but Istanbul is a convenient and proven platform, the behind-the-scenes process is ongoing, a diplomatic source in the capital of Turkey told Sputnik.
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan previously said that an agreement in principle had been reached on a new round of negotiations.
"There is no clarity yet on where exactly the negotiations will be held. Istanbul, of course, is a convenient, proven, and proven negotiating platform. The behind-the-scenes negotiation process [on the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine] is underway, but so far there are no specifics," the source said.
