Aizawl, Feb. 21 -- Chief Minister Lalduhoma has shot down speculation that the Zoram People's Movement (ZPM) government plans to lift prohibition and open liquor shops in Mizoram, asserting in the state assembly on Friday that the matter has never been discussed by his government.

Speaking during the budget session in response to allegations from opposition legislators, Lalduhoma, however, acknowledged that Excise & Narcotics Minister Lalnghinglova Hmar intends to seek an amendment to the Mizoram Liquor Prohibition Act, 2019, during the current session-aimed at regulating wine and beer.
