Hyderabad, Jan. 1 -- Telangana Panchayat Raj, Women and Child Welfare Minister Seethakka on Thursday appealed to people to begin the New Year with humanity rather than extravagance, urging them to replace flower bouquets with blankets to help the poor battle the winter cold.
At the Telangana Secretariat, Divya Devarajan, CEO of SERP, along with SERP directors and staff, met the Minister to extend New Year greetings.
On the occasion, instead of a bouquet, Divya Devarajan presented a blanket woven by Telangana weavers, a gesture warmly appreciated by the Minister.
