New Delhi, May 28 -- NLC India Limited (NLCIL), a Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Coal, has emerged as the preferred bidder for two vital mineral blocks in the recently concluded Tranche V auction conducted by the Ministry of Mines. The two blocks - Raipura and Semhardih - located in Chhattisgarh, are rich in Phosphorite and Limestone, minerals critical to India's fertilizer and industrial sectors. Production from these mines is expected to significantly reduce the country's dependence on imports of phosphorite, thereby bolstering the sustainability and growth of the agriculture sector.
