Patna, Oct. 3 -- Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today transferred the second installment of funds under the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana directly into the bank accounts of 25 lakh beneficiary women.

Kumar transferred the amount in a function organised at one Anne Marg during which each woman received Rs 10,000, amounting to a total disbursement of Rs 2,500 crore.

Speaking on the occasion, Kumar highlighted his government's efforts towards women's empowerment since he assumed office on November 24, 2005.

Kumar said that the first installment of the scheme was released on September 26, when Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in the presence of CM Nitish Kumar, transferred Rs 7,500 crore to the accounts of 75 lakh women. With today's ins...
