Patna, Jan. 11 -- Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar visited the historic Golghar complex on Sunday to review its condition and directed officials to ensure proper beautification and maintenance of the site to make it more attractive for visitors.

Golghar is a round shaped granary with a spiral staircse built in 1786 to store grain after the 1770 famine, following the orders of the then British Governor-General Warren Hastings.

During the inspection, the Chief Minister took stock of the Golghar park, the structural condition of the monument, and facilities including light and sound show and laser show. He said Golghar is an important historical heritage site and attracts a large number of tourists and locals.
