Patna, May 20 -- Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday reviewed the administrative preparedness to meet the challenges of floods in the state ahead of the monsoon season.

During the review meeting, the CM directed the officials concerned to remain prepared with all possible measures to face the challenges of floods, which could affect the state.

The state government has been extending all assistance to flood affected victims and also farmers affected by droughts, he added.

"Standard Operating Procedure (SoP) has already been prepared long back and it should be strictly followed during the floods," the Chief Minister said, adding that floods and droughts were not handled during the RJD regime before 2005.
