Patna, Nov. 19 -- Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Wednesday resigned from the post and staked claim to form the new government, after being elected leader of the NDA legislature party.

Nitish Kumar, after being elected as leader of the NDA legislature party, drove straight to Raj Bhawan to call on Bihar Governor Arif Mohammad Khan. He resigned as Chief Minister and also staked claim to form the new NDA government.

Kumar submitted a list of all legislators of NDA, having their support to form the new NDA government.

He also submitted letters of all constituents of NDA who have extended their support to him.
