Rajkot, Jan. 14 -- Young allrounders Nitish Kumar Reddy of India and New Zealand debutant Jayden Lennox came into focus as New Zealand skipper Michael Bracewell won the toss and elected to bowl first against India, citing the possibility of dew playing a role later in the match at the Niranjan Shah Stadium here.

Bracewell said the surface looked good for batting but felt bowling first could be advantageous if the ball skidded on under lights.

He added that New Zealand had given themselves a chance to win the previous match with a late surge and were keen to embrace the challenge of playing in front of a large, partisan crowd. Lennox was handed his debut as New Zealand tweaked their combination to suit the conditions.
