Patna, Aug. 18 -- Bihar minister and senior BJP leader Nitish Mishra has accused opposition parties of deliberately spreading misinformation about the ongoing revision of electoral rolls, claiming they are trying to create unnecessary panic among voters.

Mishra said here that the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists is a routine and transparent exercise conducted by the Election Commission (EC), a constitutional body that has been overseeing elections since the country's independence. "The Election Commission is trusted not only in India but across the world for conducting free and fair polls. Questioning its credibility without evidence is an attempt to mislead the people," Mishra asserted.
